Many companies can be sticklers for time tracking, and need to know how your work time is spent for billing and accounting purposes. Keeping tabs on how much time you've spent on various tasks is also important on the other end for consulting gigs that pay hourly.

It sounds as if, in order to make a profit, a purchaser will ALWAYS receive an "Alternate Offer" instead of a rebate. Is that the case? Otherwise, I don't see how an offer like today's could make any profit for the vendor.

Rebates are not good. I do not know why you can't just do this online without these awful rebates, which are tricky to begin with. I have had some awful rebate problems and won't go there again. I use antirebates.com for all my bargains. This is a waste of time.

rebates are only good for usa based customers.

we all in other places of the planet, dont use that system. no practical at all. just convenience for vendors to manage internal their numbers.

i feel uncomfortable with that system. how can i use that "return check"???

Thanks so much for your comments. The reason we use rebates is that we can get *much* lower prices for you than you can get from coupon sites. For example the deal today is $0, which is really impossible with any other method.

The rebate process is very painless, and just involves printing out and signing the rebate form, it's not complicated at all.

It's not true that rebates are only for US customers. For the majority of countries you'll be sent a payment in your local currency written from a local bank so there are no fees involved and you can simply deposit it just as you would normally. You can see the full list of countries right here:

We've partnered with RebateDelivery, which is a new company set up specifically to offer software rebates, I know the owner personally and would not have considered launching this website with any other rebate company. We're not about to wreck the trust we've built from years of selling software by using a fly-by-night processor.

I'd also like to extend my personal guarentee. If anyone ever has a problem with a rebate from BoomerApp I'll personally write them a check and pay any fee for converting that to any currency.

I'm in the UK and I have had repeated and continually good, quick service from Nico and the team. I have no concerns at all about dealing with them, and check their websites every day for offers. The products on offer are good solid industrial-strength software. On average, I probably buy twice a month from them. The more people that support this site, the more products we will all be offered.

This site says checks are cut within 2 business days. The form to ask for the rebate says 4-8 weeks. The Rebate form itself says 6-12 WEEKS.

Well, which is it? This nlooks more and more like a scam. And I have seen nothing about how my software is to be delivered, now that I have spent the $$ on it.

David, let me put your mind at ease. Your serial number will arrive by email, you should have already received it. You can download the software by clicking on the Download link on this page and entering in your serial number into it.

I've just noticed that you're correct about the rebate form saying 6-12 weeks, what I presume is that this is to account for international deliveries. For US and European delivery the CEO of RebateDelivery, the system we use, assures me that they process within 2 business days. I'll call him tomorrow and get clarification on that.

Again you have my personal guarantee, if you, or anyone else does not get paid for a rebate I will personally write them a check. This is a brand new website for us, just launched this week, we've been running our sister website BitsDuJour.com for two years now and that's built on the goodwill of the software community.

Good catch on the dates - it's a simple oversight on our part. We have base forms that are intended to be customized for each application (as is our entire solution) - we simply overlooked updating the 'fine print' it in our rush to get this site/solution live. I apologize for the confusion We will get the selection page and form updated right away. I need to discuss on our side and with our partners but I'm thinking it should say 1-2 or 1-3 weeks as there is time from when the form is mailed and we receive it, then 0-2 business days for us to process it/cut a check, then time for a check (in the cases where payment is via check) to get from us to the consumer. I'd rather underpromise and overdeliver and the two postal parts of the equation above are beyond our control (in terms of transit time). Obviously even in the worst case though it would never take six weeks.

I'm also going to update our base forms so that in the future even if we or our vendor forgets or overlooks customizing the base language it will be more in line with our service (we move the process as fast as possible, that's part of our core model and values). Anyway, I apologize for the oversight and we will get the selection page and the form updated right away - good catch.
