While searching for user reviews on this application I see that it is offered elsewhere for $39.95. Here the list price is shows $69.95. Is this a newer version?

Since this is backup software, it needs some space to store data. I just made a snapshot that says it needed 130 MB. So I guess some data must be stored somewhere, after all, it can't be voodoo :)
And as stated on your webside, Avira claims WTS is a virus. But I do not want to configure my software to ignore this virus completely, so you may want to inform Avira.
I have read your info and some reviews, but I am suspicious; of course you can not tell how WTS does its job, but I would feel more confident if I would know what is done on my machine.
Apart from that, I have just started testing, and if it really does what it claims to do, it's a gem!

Please let me add some questions:
- how can I include / exlude partitions
- since WTS only works if the harddisk is OK: what parts of the harddisk need to be OK
- can I check 2 snapshots for differences
- on uninstall WTS asks for the 'final snapshot' to be used; does this mean it will inevitably restore a snapshot (even when it is recent)?

Thank you for your attention to our product.

1, I guess the 130MB is what you see after the snapshot you have taken? It's not the snapshot that requires 130MB space. It's how large size of data has changed between two snapshots. You may say that you don't change that amount of data yourself. But note that when you run programs and surf on the internet, there are temporary files generated automatically, and they are included in the number of MB.

2. We are communicating with Avira and making effort to work it out.

3, Time Shuttle remembers all the data on your disks, but not copy or compress them. So no extra space is needed for snapshots.

- how can I include / exclude partitions

Answer: You can only include or exclude by uninstalling Time Shuttle and reinstall it to choose partitions again.

- since WTS only works if the harddisk is OK: what parts of the harddisk need to be OK

Answer: Time Shuttle is software solution for backup and restore, and it can't restore data that is lost due to physical hard disk damage, for example, bad track, sector damage, etc.

- can I check 2 snapshots for differences

Answer: Yes. We recommend you to use some keywords as the name of each snapshot to remind yourself of the content of each one. To check content of snapshots, you can open virtual drives in Recover files to check the difference.

- on uninstall WTS asks for the 'final snapshot' to be used; does this mean it will inevitably restore a snapshot (even when it is recent)?

Answer: No. If you don't want to perform restore, just choose the Current. It is for uninstallation. And your system and disks will keep the current status after uninstallation.

A word of warning. After uninstalling WTS, on restart Windows says that the OS-Partition is corrupted. And WTS did not uninstall itself, but was still on the disk and running. The uninstall also deleted all Avira firewall entries. Worst: now Windows runs a few minutes, then reports a serious system error and restarts. So it looks like I will have to completely reinstall my whole PC from OS up.
(OS: Win 7 Home 64-bit.)

Thank you Peter pereh. We have informed our testing team to do further test again. If it's possible, please leave a contact for us to learn more about your problem.

Before the first release of Time Shuttle, we have held strict tests on Windows systems, including Windows 7 64-bit. The conflict with Avira does exist. Avira gives alert that virus is found in Time Shutte and the conflict is just like this. We are keeping communicating with Avira to solve the problem. We haven't met yet your situations "The uninstall also deleted all Avira firewall entries." and "Windows runs a few minutes, then reports a serious system error and restarts." Our other users with Windows 7 64-bit haven't met these problems, either.

So it may take some time for us to find out the problem and we will give a perfect answer for the issue.

I think the product is a little bit overpriced now. Actually this is the clone of RollbackRx, Ayrecovery (paid products) and Comodo Time Machine, which is completely free, just to name few.
What is the advantage of your product (paid) over Comodo Time Machine (free)?
