Products and Promos

How does this work?

We feature discount deals on Windows applications or web services at a substantial discount. You only have a limited time to purchase a product.

What if I miss a deal?

Our discounts are available for a limited time, if you miss a deal you will not be able to get it later. For each deal the remaining time is clearly marked so you can see how long you have left. There are often other discounts in our newsletter, so sign up now.

Do items "sell out"?

No - everything will be available at the discounted price until the timer runs out. This means you can try any program before you buy it, and still be sure you'll be able to get the discount.

When does the featured item change?

At midnight eastern time. That's 9:00 p.m. Pacific time, 5:00 a.m. in London, 7:00 p.m. in Hawaii, 2:00 p.m. in Tokyo, 4:00 p.m. in Sydney, and 6:00pm in New Zealand at least when Daylight Savings Time is not in effect in the U.S. To help you figure out the time difference, right now it's 6:52 AM eastern time.

What won't you feature?

We won't feature "adult content", or file sharing products or any other programs that violate or help violate copyright laws.

Rebates

What are Rebates?

Mail-in rebates are a way to reward you for your purchase. You pay full price up-front, print out and mail a special rebate form, and then receive a percentage or all of your money back in the form of a rebate payment. You'll know exactly how much you're going to get back for your rebate as the deal will say so.

Please note that rebate forms must be physically mailed, they cannot be e-mailed in.

I don't live in the US, can I still use Rebates?

Yes you can. We offer numerous worldwide addresses that you can post your rebate form, and you will be paid as detailed below. We're truly global, and the only countries we don't support are those on the international trade embargo list.

Please note that, due to daily fluctuations in currency markets, international customers may find that their rebate amount is very slightly less (or more!) than the amount originally paid. For purchases in the EU, VAT Tax must be charged on the price of the product, and this is not redeemable as part of the rebate.

How will I get paid for my rebate?

US buyers will receive a USD rebate check in the mail.

For selected (mainly European) countries you will be paid in your local currency using using electronic funds transfer or bank transfer. Transfers are made from a bank local to your country. These countries and currencies are as follows:

How long do I have to send in my rebate form?

Thirty days. If we receive your rebate form after that unfortunately we won't be able to process it.

How long will it take to get my rebate?

Unlike other rebate companies our rebate processor does not 'sit on' payments. Payments are processed and issued within two business days of recieving the rebate form for the fastest possible payments. Note that there is still postal transit time to the rebate processor and (depending on payment form) postal transit time to the consumer - so typically consumers will receive their rebate payments within 1-3 weeks of sending in their form.

What are alternative offers?

After you've made the purchase you might be offered a different product which you can choose to receive for free instead of getting your rebate. It's up to you which option you choose. These alternative offers are often from the same vendor, and if not they are for a product we feel compliments what you purchased.

How many products can I purchase?

You can purchase any product that's available. Unless otherwise specified we only allow you to claim one rebate per product. Multiple rebate forms for the same product from the same customer will not be honored.

Who are SoftwareMarketingResource, FastSpring and RebateDelivery?

SoftwareMarketingResource is the system that product vendors use to administer their promotions, and is run by us. FastSpring is our partner and handles all the e-commerce, they are well respected in the software industry. Our partner Rebate Delivery handles all of our rebate processing, and is quickly changing the software sales landscape.

Buying, Privacy and Safety

If I buy any of the Featured Items, where am I buying them from?

You're buying it direct from the product's manufacturer. This way, you're in their database for support and upgrades, and you know you're buying a legal license for the software, not any kind of gray-market or pirated version.

How safe is shopping at these associated sites?

Very safe. Our rebate transactions are processed exclusively through FastSpring our trusted e-commerce partner, and we also check all vendors before we list their product on our site. While we always suggest people use standard online shopping precautions, we're very comfortable representing any site whose products we feature. We only work with vendors that have reasonable privacy and support policies.

Where do I go if I need customer or technical support, or a refund?

Since we don't handle the actual product sales, we can't give refunds or credits. If you have a problem with a program, please write directly to the program's author. Their URL is always on the feature page. You can also contact recent and upcoming program authors directly on our contact form. If you do have trouble then let us know and we'll help out.

Are the programs featured the most current versions?

Yes! We feature only the current version of any program. And because you're buying the item right from its vendor, you know that it's a legal purchase, not a pirated version.

Can programs be shipped to me (wherever I am)?

If the vendor offers it, yes. It's up to them. If not, or if you don't want to pay for shipping, we always recommend making a backup CD of any installation file you download. Speaking from experience, you'll find at some point that you're glad you have it. Our policy is that everything has to be downloadable, so people anywhere can buy anything we feature. There are some products that also offer copies on CD, and in those cases, they set the policies about where they ship to. But again, everything we feature is downloadable, so shipping never has to be an issue.

Why should I use the store's link, if I'm buying right from the item's vendor?

The discounts are only available from our links, if you buy from the vendor's normal website you won't get our discount.

Will the same offers come back?

Many will, we normally wait 4 to 6 months, but we can't guarantee anything specific.

What's the privacy policy?

In detail, it's here. Briefly, we'll treat all your information with respect, and not sell, give away, lend or abuse your email address. We're every bit as tired of spam as everyone else is, and we're not going to add to it.

Why don't you include your email addresses on this site?

One of the best ways to get a lot of spam is to publish an email address. The more spam we get, the easier it is to lose a real email. If you want to contact us, please use this form. We promise we'll take it every bit as seriously as we'd do with an email.

Email Subscriptions

How does the daily email work?

We have either a weekly or a daily email newsletter and we welcome you to join either of them. The weekly newsletter goes out in the morning and will have the next seven days of deals and any special offers that we may have, along with site news. The daily notifications go out every evening just past midnight and have just the deal that you can get that day. You can subscribe to either of them, and we'll be careful with your email address.
